Welcome to the Historical Society of the Tenth Judicial Circuit

The goal of the Society is to promote awareness of federal courts in the Tenth Circuit, their function and history by:

  • Assisting in the preservation of items of historical significance, including the Byron White Collection
  • Assisting in the collection of materials related to court history
  • Presenting programs at state bar association meetings
  • Sponsoring programs and lectures in the courthouse
  • Delivering presentations at local schools
  • Planning sessions at the biennial Tenth Circuit Judicial Conference
  • Supporting publication of articles about the development of federal courts
    • histories of specific events or cases
    • biographies or oral histories of judges and distinguished lawyers
  • Developing permanent or traveling exhibits

The Society was formed as a non-profit Colorado corporation in 2003 and qualifies under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code as an educational and charitable organization. Contributions, including membership dues, are tax-deductible.

The Society invites readers of this website to join, contribute ideas and information, and participate in Society activities.
